son of Van Buren Wallace and Mary Jane Kelley Wallace. After dropping out of school to support his family, years later, he
met and married a feisty woman from Louisiana, Edna Mae McLeod and they raised 4 sons and 1 daughter. Papaw worked for Santa
Fe and Bethlehem Steel. We are very, very proud of him and our lives were enriched to have him in it. Papaw encouraged education
for all of us and had one son who was an Assistant Supt in Silsbee, one an engineer for Santa Fe, one an agent for the American
government, and one a safety supervisor in one of the refineries. His daughter, [is] Mary Evelyn Wallace Reeves..." --
