All the photos and the news article (1908
Cleveland Newspaper) were in an old album I purchased at a resale shop. The subject, Elizabeth Maugherman, is reported to
have been born in 1805, her father served in the American Revolution but his name is not listed nor is her maiden name.
In the news article, Elizabeth's great-great-granddaughter, Leona Hardinger is mentioned. I found 3 census years
for Leona:
Year: 1910; Census Place: Waterford, Erie, Pennsylvania;
Roll: T624_1343; Page: 4B; Enumeration District: 138; Image: 1014.
Year: 1920;Census Place: Millcreek, Erie, Pennsylvania;
Roll: T625_1567; Page: 5B; Enumeration District: 128; Image: 552.
Year: 1930; Census Place: Erie, Erie, Pennsylvania;
Roll: 2036; Page: 22B; Enumeration District: 86; Image: 1078.0.
There is a post card at the bottom of Earl D. Ehlinger, listed as Carrier #2 and it addressed to the Smothers Family,
Flint Mich. There isn't a date but I located his WW1 draft card dated 1917.( Registration Location: Hillsdale County, Michigan;
Roll: 1675663; Draft Board: 0.) He was born 4 Nov 1894 and is 22.
While
there are no names on any of the photos, I can't help but think this is the family of Mrs. Maugherman.
If you
are a direct descendant of Mrs. Maugherman, please contact me about obtaining the album.

If you read the home page, you know that I am a volunteer with www.findagrave.com One of the many reasons I love that site is that these people are just wonderful and
help each other. I just received the following from a fellow member.
"I found in (Mortuary Notice) Date: 1913-06-14; Paper: Wilkes-Barre Times Leader
Bryon,O. Mrs. Elizabeth Maugherman who for years has smoked
nearly all the time while about the home is dead at 108." -- Labyrinth
Many thanks to "Labyrinth"
for finding this great bit of information!
