Ironwood, Tex.

Site of Sam Houston's Grand Cane Plantation in 1840's Liberty County. The first post office was established in 1846 but in 1869 the name was changed to Ironwood and then again in 1900 to Clark. By 1990, there were only a few old buildings left and a gravel pit.

There is a FIELDS CEMETERY in Clark listed on Findagrave.com. Has 30 graves listed.

There also the NIXON SMITH CEMETERY listed which has 41 graves listed.
IRONWOOD TEXAS

There is a reference on one of the Death Certificates for a "Clark Colored Cemetery" but I have not located that cemetery as yet.

I have included the Concord Cemetery as being in Clark because at the time, it was part of the Clark community. Once the Clark voting precinct merged with Rye in 1948, forming the Concord precinct, the cemetery became associated with that community.

You can locate the individual DC and click on it. These are downloadable,  just make sure you include the file extention of ".jpg" when you click to save it.
